COMMUNIST REVIEW (“New Series”, CR) is the theory and discussion journal of the Communist Party of Britain, and has been published continuously from Autumn 1988. For the first two decades, it appeared on average five times every two years, but with issue No. 52 publication shifted to quarterly, albeit occasionally delayed.
Today the ideological situation demands that we step up a gear, not only with frequency of publication, but also with impact and outreach. From July 2024 (CR112), the journal is being published bimonthly, and this web site is intended to extend its outreach. Here you will find contents, editorials and the text of one major article from the most recent four issues, and full pdfs of all previous editions for which we have digital versions. You will also find links to the Communist Party online shop, where you can buy individual issues and subscribe.
CR intends from now on to engage more consistently in the battle of ideas and emotions, in particular with the issues of neoliberalism, imperialism and diversionary trends such as post-Marxism, and with the degradation of social life through the ruling class’s use of the culture industries and the education system. We aim to reflect major Communist Party of Britain priorities and initiatives, and to seek out and publish articles on various Marxist approaches internationally, looking in particular at China, Africa, India, the Caribbean and so on.
